Course Description

Programming in Java is a 20-hour micro-course that focuses on applications—including logic and code as well as algorithmic logic for sorting, searching, and other foundational problems. You'll also review technical concepts in an interview format and integrate and adapt code for larger applications.

Learner Outcomes

Complete the Quest successfully and you will be able to:

  1. Construct basic Java application logic and code, such as variables, conditional and iterative execution, methods, loops, etc.
  2. Apply algorithmic logic for sorting, searching, and other foundational problems
  3. Explain technical concepts in an interview format
  4. Integrate code and add new features into a larger application

Prerequisites

We designed Programming in Java for individuals with little or no programming experience who are considering careers in programming. Plan for this Quest to take approximately 20 hours to complete. However, the time you spend on each topic will depend on your previous experience and understanding so actual completion times can vary widely.
