Students will refine their clinical judgment by advancing differential diagnosis skills, assessment skills, exploring advanced diagnostic testing and evaluating treatments for complex disease processes.
A recently passed Florida law allows qualified nurse practitioners (NPs) to independently practice without an attending physician’s supervision. Nurse practitioners must demonstrate the following guidelines have been met within the last five years: 3,000 hours of practice experience under the supervision of a physician, plus either three credit hours of graduate-level coursework or 45 continuing education units (CEU) in advanced pharmacology and differential diagnosis.
